Letha Page King

Letha Page King, 89, of Halifax, transitioned to her heavenly home on Saturday, March 16, 2019.

She was born on October 29, 1929, at the family home. Letha was the daughter of the late Samuel M. and Frances "Frankie" Page. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James A. King, and her siblings, W.E. Page, Isaac Page, Elizabeth Page, S.H. Page, Alice P. Saunders, Etta Frances P. Hernandez, Eddie Mac Page and Clyde Page.

Letha was a lifetime member of Halifax United Methodist Church, and held many offices in the Church and the United Methodist Women. Letha and James were instrumental in forming several Veterans organizations, including axillaries. She was a charter member of the Halifax Garden Club, the Historical Outdoor Drama, "First for Freedom" was blessed with her food, lodging and nurturing, as well as being on stage.

She is survived by her daughter, Frances "Frankie" King of Halifax; many loved nieces and nephews; several "girls" that were like daughters; and two fur-babies, Punkin and Sasha.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Halifax United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Formo and Rev. Charles Myers officiating.

Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Halifax United Methodist Church Sanctuary.
